Flights to Helsinki

16:25 Flight to Ivalo

18:40 Arrival at Ivalo Airport, where your local host will warmly welcome you. 

Transfer to Ivalo and to Aurora Village Ivalo, which is ideally situated only about 15 minutes drive from the airport.

~19:30 Check in at the hotel.

20:00~21:30 Welcome drink and dinner is served in the hotel’s restaurant.

After dinner, it's time to rest and recharge for the exciting adventures that await tomorrow!

09:30~10:00 Site inspection of Aurora Village Ivalo.

10:00~11:45 Back country hike. This tour takes us into the forest behind Aurora Village. As we hike through the summer landscape, we may spot Arctic animals watching us along the way. The trail is varied and scenic, offering beautiful Lappish nature all around. During the hike, we will enjoy a delicious lunch served by an open campfire.

12:00~12:45 Transfer to Kiilopää area, well-known for its stunning fell scenery.

12:45~13:30 Site inspection of Suomen Latu Kiilopää.

13:30~15:00 We will hop on e-bikes and explore Urho Kekkonen National Park, Finland’s second-largest and one of its most popular national parks. This adventure offers a fantastic way to experience Lappish nature: along the way, we’ll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the breathtaking fell scenery—views that will leave a lasting impression!

15:00-16:30 Smoke sauna experience. With around 3.2 million saunas across the country, sauna culture is deeply rooted in Finnish life—both past and present. No visit to Finland is complete without experiencing this cherished tradition. Suomen Latu Kiilopää is well known for its famous smoke sauna, Kuurakaltio — a must-have experience when visiting Northern Lapland. Now we’ll have the chance to enjoy it ourselves. Relax in the warm, atmospheric smoke sauna and finish with a refreshing dip in the river right beside the sauna.

16:30~16:50 Transfer from Kiilopää to Wilderness Hotel Kieppi, which is ideally situated in the centre of the Saariselkä outdoor resort.

Upon arrival a welcome drink and snacks served. Then short site inspection tour of Wilderness Hotel Kieppi followed by check-in to your hotel room.

Some free time before dinner.

19:00~21:00 Dinner is served in the hotel’s restaurant Kieppi Kitchen & Bar.

10:00~11:45 Site inspections of the following venues in Saariselkä:

11:45~12:30 Transfer from Saariselkä to Xwander Nordic’s wilderness camp.

12:30~15:15 On arrival to Xwander Nordic’s wilderness camp, we will be welcomed by a local professional guide who will introduce us the secrets of fishing. This activity gives us a glimpse of traditional ways of fishing in Finland. We will also learn some important skills (such as how to make an open fire) that are good to know when you are out in nature. Lunch by campfire is served during the wilderness camp visit.

15:15~15:45 Transfer from Xwander Nordic’s wilderness camp to Wilderness Hotel Inari.

15:45~16:15 Site inspection of Wilderness Hotel Inari. A short transfer to Wilderness Hotel Juutua.
16:30 Check-in to your hotel room.

17:00-18:30 It’s time for the Finnish sauna! Wilderness Hotel Juutua’s sauna and meeting venue,Koski, sits beautifully by the River Juutua and offers a perfect setting for relaxation. You can enjoy soothing baths in sauna, while the jacuzzi on the terrace provide a stunning view of the river.

19:00~21:00 Dinner at the award-winning Restaurant Aanaar. We will enjoy a memorable dining experience at Restaurant Aanaar, where a deep appreciation for Lapland’s nature and heritage is reflected in every dish. The kitchen crafts unique creations using organic, locally sourced ingredients from regional producers and foragers.

Tuesday 09.06.2026

07:00-09:00 Breakfast served in Wilderness Hotel Juutua’s restaurant.

09:05 Check-out.

09:15-10:00 Transfer from Inari to Lemmenjoki Village located next to Lemmenjoki National Park - the largest national park in Finland. This is the place to experience the real wilderness!

10:00-14:30 We will embark on a riverboat cruise organized by Paltto Adventures, a local Sámi family. As we glide along the river, we will admire the astonishing mountain range rising from the river canyon and witness the beautiful Ravadasköngäs Waterfall. During the journey, we will enjoy an outdoor lunch served by open fire while listening traditional joik singing and stories about everyday life in Lapland. After the riverboat cruise we will visit a local felt studio set in an old Sámi setting on the banks of River Lemmenjoki. We will also have the opportunity to meet reindeer and learn about reindeer husbandry, a traditional livelihood of Sámi people.

14:30~15:15 Transfer from Lemmenjoki to Sámi Museum and Nature Centre Siida.

15:15-16:30 Enjoy a guided tour of the Sámi Museum and Nature Centre Siida. where we will gain insight into Sámi culture and the unique nature of northernmost Lapland—both essential to everyday life in the region. After the tour, we’ll have some time to browse the museum shop for local crafts and souvenirs.

A short transfer to Visit Inari.

16:35-17:15 Site inspection of Hotel Inari and Holiday Village Inari.

Transfer from Inari to Ivalo to Happy Huskies’ kennel. Transfer time approx. 40 minutes.

18:00~18:45 It’s time to meet the happy huskies at Happy Huskies’ farm. During the visit we will meet the pack of 20 huskies, be part of their daily life, hear their stories and learn something unique about each dog. Most importantly,we will experience the seamless connection between dogs and humans.

18:45~20:00 Farewell dinner is served in Happy Huskies’ cozy kota.

20:00 Transfer to Ivalo Airport. It’s time to say goodbye to Lapland North!

This optional day offers a light, flexible program with a focus on summer vibes and memorable city experience during the birthday of Helsinki. Dip into depths of local sauna culture and enjoy a dinner experience under the open sky.
