13.00 Arrival in Lahti, lunch in the restaurant Voitto in the Sport Centre of Lahti
Lahti Sports Centre is one of the town’s most fascinating tourist attractions for the whole family. Internationally known Lahti Sports Centre is the heart of the ski games. The Sports Centre is one of the most significant geosites within the Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark.

14.00 Introduction of the main sites of interest in the City of Lahti (Sport Centre, City Centre with the Church of Cross and City HallHarbour area with Sibelius Hall). 

15.00 Hotel check: Solo Sokos Hotel Lahden Seurahuone
The history of the Solo Sokos Hotel Lahden Seurahuone begins in the 1890’s. This centrally located hotel is constantly renewing and paying high attention to sustainability. The hotel has the Green Key certificate and was rewarded with the Sustainable Travel Finland certificate in 2020. In October 2022 the hotel was selected as the most sustainable hotel of Europe in the competition World Luxury Hotel Awards. Fifty new individually designed rooms in Seurahuone Loft House guarantee an exclusive hotel experience.

Houseboat is a unique combination of touring and nature adventure in the middle of the most scenic Finnish Lakeland. A houseboat enables you to experience the traditional Finnish cottage holiday, lake cruise, touring and active vacation in one package. Based in Heinola, the second city of the Lahti region, the company Houseboat.fi offers 11 modern houseboats for 2–8 persons. Each houseboat also has its own sauna onboard.

Lehmonkärki is a high-quality resort on the shores of South Lake Päijänne, in Asikkala. In addition to rental cottages, high-quality villas and meeting and banquet facilities, Lehmonkärki offers a wide range of auxiliary programs, from snowmobile safaris to boat trips to Päijänne National Park. Haasi Mirror Houses offers something truly unique even for the experienced traveler. The walls of the accommodation room are full-height mirrored glass and the accommodation buildings are built on top of the pier structure on the lake. 10.00 Departure to Himos along the route number 314, the most scenic route of Finland.
In the southern end of the route we drive through the iconic Pulkkilanharju esker, cutting across Lake Päijänne, one of the best known and most instagrammable sites of Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark. The narrow 8-kilometre-long esker belongs partly to Päijänne National Park, which protects the valuable archipelago nature of Finland’s second largest lake.

Himosmajoitus is a lodging company with restaurant services by Restaurant Rinne. The upstairs of the restauranta features a versatile lunch and holiday buffet, and downstairs you will find the Bistro & Burger Rinne. One of the famous Treats is "possumunkki" (freshly made doughnuts) and specialty coffees.

Just over five minutes’ drive away from Himos and 12 km from the centre of Jämsä, the Sauna Village provides visitors with an opportunity to become acquainted with the most extensive collection of Finnish smoke saunas.Sauna Village has historic smoke saunas gathered all over from Finland. The oldest ones date back to the 18th century and the youngest smoke saunas represent the styles of smoke saunas built in the 1940s.

The Aalto2 Museum Centre was opened to the public in the summer of 2023. The museum centre will encompass two separate museums: The Alvar Aalto Museum is the nationally designated museum of Alvar Aalto’s heritage of architecture and design. The Museum of Central Finland is the designated regional museum of Central Finland. Together these museums form a new museum hub focused on cultural heritage, the cultural environment, architecture, and design.

13:30-13:45 Transfer to the Lutakko Harbour
Lutakko Harbour is like a living room for locals. In winter the Lake Jyväsjärvi has an ice skating ring, and other possibilities for winter activities. In summer it is full of boats, water activities, and events.

14:00-17:00 Lunch cruise on the m/s Suomen Suvi @paijanneristeilythilden
A cruise by Päijänne-risteilyt Hildén, on the m/s Suomen Suvi offers a relaxing way to experience the lakeland scenery of the northern Lake Päijänne. Built in 1993 specifically for canal navigation, the vessel is known as a "sunshine ship" that combines modern amenities with traditional lake travel. The ship features a panoramic restaurant and its own onboard kitchen. A Finnish buffet is typically served, including seasonal salads, fish delicacies, and traditional meat dishes like Karelian stew.

13.15  Site inspection of the new glass workshop and its operations, which will begin in June 

13.30  Guided tour of Lasikylä, including visits to the Prykär Glass Museum and Oiva Toikka’s Lintukoto. The guided tour passes through the artists’ galleries, so everyone will have the opportunity to explore local glass art. During the tour, we may also see the artists at work in their studios.

15:00 Transfer to Hämeenlinna.

16:00 Site inspection of Iittala Glass Factory and Iitttala Shop
The story of Iittala began in 1881, when the glass factory was first founded in the village. Today, the factory, which nowadays operates as part of the Fiskars Group, is the only one of its kind in Finland and continues the long tradition of Finnish glass manufacturing. Even today, the skilled glass blowers at the factory make, among other things, Finland’s most internationally famous glass object, Alvar Aalto’s Aalto vase.
