The city is part of the metropolitan area and a second biggest city in Finland. It is easily accessible from Helsinki City Centre and Helsinki International Airport. Lahti, the European Green Capital is the first real lakeside city you come to after departing from the capital Helsinki. The Lahti region offers a wide range of nature activities and urban events in the surroundings of the unique Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark area where the whole landscape is created by water. The Lahti region offers a range of unique accommodations, including lakeside cottages, to make your visit unforgettable. With its easy accessibility from Helsinki the Lahti region is a perfect destination even for a short day trip.

The area of Lake Saimaa, Savonlinna, Mikkeli and Varkaus, is a paradise for people who love spending time in nature. During the summer you can move around by ships, boats, kayak or sup board. The forests and shores of Lake Saimaa call for hiking, biking, nature wellbeing or riding excursions. In the wintertime you can move around Lake Saimaa by skis, skates, snowshoes and bike. The spring time is the best time to see our endangered Saimaa Ringed Seal and in autumn we relax by picking-up the mushrooms and by having a break on a campfire. Savonlinna and Mikkeli regions are also culturally rich destinations. The Savonlinna Opera festival is a cultural event known across the world, held every July in Olavinlinna castle. In addition to opera, you can enjoy also the world famous Mikkeli Music Festival in August and both regions offers many other forms of live music, art, local food and history to anyone travelling here.

Nuuksio National Park is the place to enjoy typical Finnish lake, forest and rugged crags sceneries. The park is a green oasis in the capital area with about 70 km of marked hiking trails and lots of outdoor activities to experience. The rocky lake upland is home to many species that thrive in old-growth forests, vibrant meadows, valleys, and ponds. This park, loved by capital area citizens, celebrate its 30 years as a National Park in year 2024, which will be a joyful celebration of both preserving the nature and recreating in these calming and energizing surroundings.

After lunch, it is time to experience the pristine Finnish nature on a guided hike hosted by a professional wilderness guide. The trail follows uneven terrain and narrow paths with beautiful forest sceneries and quiet calming and energizing atmosphere. Prepare with outdoor clothes and good walking shoes!

We gather at Radalla Resort's pier, where we depart for a boat trip to the beautiful Lake Urajärvi. During the trip, we will hear stories about Finnish summer holidays and the history of Kymijoki and Urajärvi. The highlight of the trip is the rock wall at Tiltunkolo, rising from the lake, where we enjoy a small lunch by the campfire.
