Magical Pond is a place where you can listen to the silence, enjoy the clean nature and the arctic nights. Our modern igloos are made in Scandinavian style; their unusual shape allows our guests to admire nature as closely and comfortably as possible. It is a perfect location to observe the blanket of stars with dancing Aurora Borealis on a clear night sky or admire the stunning midnight sun. Cozy and modern igloos will show you the beauty of our nature all year round – from the arctic midnight sun to the ‘ruska’ in the autumn; from the snowy ‘tykky’ trees to the beautiful thaw when the nature starts waking up. Keep an eye on the local wildlife; you might get lucky and meet the reindeers, foxes, birds, or even an elk.

Hiking in Oulanka National Park 
The Karhunkierros or Bear's trail, is Finland’s most popular hiking trail that takes you to the beautiful Oulanka national park landscapes in Kuusamo-Ruka region. Along the trail, you can admire the river landscapes of the area, crumbling cliffs and majestic canyons. You can also stop to listen to the mighty sounds of the rapids on the suspension bridges found along the route. On this guided hiking program you will walk a small tour along the most beautiful day trail in Oulanka National Park called Pieni Karhunkierros - Small Bear. The hike includes walking on hanging bridges, trails, board walks and stairs. During the walk we get to see the beautiful rapids of Myllykoski and Aallokkokoski and beautiful sceneries of Oulanka Wilderness. After the trip we enjoy lunch in Basecamp Oulanka.

Easy going e-bike trip 
Today we get to know shortly about biking possibilities in Ruka-Kuusamo! Everybody will get a bike and helmet and we check everybody´s skills before heading to the nature. We will make a short biking today for about 2 hours. Sporthouse Ruka is the place for bikers! A wide selection of bikes with or without electric from fatbikes and mountainbikes to gravelbikes. Good advises for the routes in Ruka-Kuusamo area and guided tours available.

13.30 River rafting in Kitkajoki river 
The excursion begins at Safarihouse where everyone receives the needed equipment. Car transfer to the Käylä Rapids from where the professional skipper leads you to the secrets of river rafting and a mighty adventure! On the 13 km route, we paddle through seven rapids. On the way we stop to plan the best routes through the rapids. The rafting adventure ends in Pohjantähti wilderness lodge from where transfer back to Ruka.

Head to the slopes and services, walking or skiing. All apartments and cottages have easy access to the ski area, trails, and the services of Ruka Village.

17.15 Summer sled track
Ruka summer sled track is a speedy and exciting way to get to know Ruka in the summer. Take the VillageExpress chairlift up to the fell and enjoy the ride down. Of course, you can also take the chair lift both ways, up and down, and admire the fantastic view. The summer sled track is one kilometer long and made of steel. You come down the track on a specially made sled.
